Procedure and Explanation text about "Bakwan"



Materials :

1. Carrot
2. Cabbage
3. Green onion
4. Shrimp
5. Cooking oil
6. Bakwan flour
7. Water


Tools :

1. Grater
2. Knife
3. Stirrer and pan


Steps :
1. Chopped the cleaned cabbage


2. Chopped the cleaned carrots


3. Chopped the cleaned green onions


4. Mix carrots, cabbage, and chopped green onion with bakwan flour


5. Mix with little bit of water


6. Stir until evenly mixed


7. Heat the oil on a skillet with medium heat


8. Place the cleaned shrimp on top of the bakwan mixture while pressing slightly so it does not becomes decompose


9. Fry until browned

EXPLANATION

Bakwan is a fried food made from vegetables and flour commonly found in Indonesia. Bakwan usually refers to a snack of fried vegetables which are usually sold by traveling vendors. The ingredients consist of bean sprouts, sliced ​​cabbage (cabbage) or carrot slices, mixed in a flour mixture and fried in a lot of cooking oil. In West Java bakwan is called 'bala-bala', in Central Java especially Pati area is called Pia-pia. Bakwan is similar to Japanese cuisine Yasai Tenpura (vegetable tempura). Bakwan sold at fried foods contain sliced ​​cabbage. Place of Origin Indonesia Region or state Maritime Southeast Asia Made by Chinese-Indonesian, and Sundanese cuisine Bakwan actually comes from China which is clearly seen in the word Bak which means Meat.
